anyone has issues with apps that stay in ram?

if an app goes in the background for more than 15-20 seconds, after i try to access it again it’s first being killed and launched again.

quite annoying and i am curious if anyone else experiences this?

I’ve seen this only after this update.

LE: Seems like the problems is related to having the animations set to 0.5. Very annoying given this is how I’ve been using all my phones for the past 8 years.

It seems like Nothing is taking a page out of Apple’s playbook. Every time a new phone is about to launch, the performance of the older models mysteriously starts to degrade. Ever since I updated my Nothing Phone 2 with the latest update in May 2025, it has become incredibly slow—almost unusable. It feels like the phone has been rendered completely useless.

Bleelblep Report this from the feedback option in the system settings. If they receive more people that ask for it, maybe they will reintroduce this fundamental feature.

Here’s my review for np2 may update

phone updated during the night and it dissabled my alarm. i was late for work this morning

“You can now set a separate privacy password for both App Locker and Privacy Space.”
and
“Introducing Privacy Space: Swipe right in the app drawer for quick and easy access to your secure zone.”
- they ruined my folder for useless apps.
- If i create this private space it locks me out of sending screenshots or screencaptures anywhere
- i can’t hide some of the apps (which were hidden before)
- App locker is nowhere to be seen (it was mentioned in the update text above

“Introducing Nothing Gallery. The perfect blend of simplicity and elegance.”
- it was already on the phone
- it updates through google play (is that even a feature to list on update??)

“Use the touch feedback toggle in Settings to disable the face unlock vibration for the lock screen.”
- Truly a technological marvel worth mentioning

“Optimised Launcher animations for seamless app launches.”
- apps and launcher are crashing if animation speed is set to 0.5x
- launcher is bugging out if you used an app for longer than 20 mins and return to launcher

“Stabilised cellular network connections.”
- calls feel a bit better, not that they were bad
- new icon of “volte” now cluttering status bar

“Enhanced WiFi and system stability.”
- already was good, didn’t feel any changes

“Enhanced accessibility experience for Status Bar and Notification Centre.”
- i’ve yet to understand waht does that mean

“Updated to Android security patch for May.”
- cool i guess

- vomit green tint is still here

ill call this update “poisoned nothing burger” and try to find a way to revert this update

this new privacy bs hinders my phone usage due to the fact that i can’t hide some apps anymore

gingerbread don’t forget to go to developer options and disable automatic updates. If you don’t do that, it’ll again automatically install the update 😂

Now this is rich. Never ever had a major issue. But not testing animations at 0.5x?

This is clearly a rushed update by a team who does not care. Not about to wait 6 months for a fix.

Changed launcher and never updating my phone again.

I dont care for your “upcoming” camera filters or whatever. Been using gcam from day 1! (like more than a year?)

The stock camera seems to be for color blind people.. no offense.

It is fine as it is. Don’t need features. I need it to Work correctly!

does that imlpy that there is a way to enable app locker back? or they don’t even know how to write patchnotes anymore?

I searched for app locker in the system settings and you get brought to a page where you can add apps to a list, and then it will use whatever security method you have set up; IT doesn’t hide the icon from app drawer but the next time you open it, it will ask for your security PIN, password or Biometric (depending on what you have set up).

Spark More simply, if you have an app that acts as an adblocker for the browser, you cannot hide it because the browser no longer detects it. The private space is simply a separate Android profile but launched as the novelty of the year

Great update!

Battery life “feels” better and it’s running a lot cooler when playing games, i does not say anything about this in the “what’s new” but it is.

I don’t get any of this. Nothing on “Google Services” is private. It is spyware.

Just don’t mess with what is not broken.

Neither Nothing launcher is private. are the apps even encrypted or just password?

Changed to Niagara launcher cause of that animation bug, and netguard alerts me that Nothing Launcher is trying to access the internet, which is blocked and the app not being used.

My browser locks always at 60fps! That normal? Or only supported browsers? Using Mull I’ve never experienced this. Feels slugish like a low range phone.

You can tell that i am just a bit frustrated.
