There is something I notice is that it doesn’t click clear image It is bit of blur in image

. .. yay, but i don’t think I (my issue? mm) can take no longer … this year = 8 more months to go w slow slow camera snaps processing preview, edit, preview, normal open+share phone gallery with another human being f2f … , What if it’s delayed .. S.I.G.H .. slow slow, very slow camera preview snaps =(

p.s. – errh, noob, will the “gallery” app really solve the delayed 2-3-4sec processing preview of snapped captures???

DexTer_e03TBYSe6f delete Google photos and install another gallery app from play store and proceed from there. You’ll see significant reduction in processing times.

Sambhrant .. just tried uninstalling Google Photos, disable auto-updates. Snap a few still photos and videos. The processing preview output is still the same - Slow, delayed 2-3-4 sec to show up as final output preview capture.

The preview UI is still the same as before, strangely. Exact layout and buttons … playing around and tested each one.
When playing with ‘Add to Albums’ icon Top Right next to ‘Favourites’ (Star icon) – App Google Photos showed up again! wow .. terrifying privacy and zero individual’s control over one’s own fully paid phone.

So in conclusion,
a) Camera NP2a is integrated tightly w Google Photos for Processing + Preview** + (Editsss) **DARN SLOW =(
b) Fully uninstalling Play Store Google Photos will be replaced by Camera hidden algorithms (like a brand new phone), installing and setting up Google Photos “the DEFAULT” phone app. AGAIN.

p.s – Trying to disable “2nd” Google Photos App. Warning Message pops up - “if you disable this app, Android and other apps may no longer function as intended. Keep in mind, you cannot delete this app since it came pre-installed on your device. ….etc”

c) UPDATE 01 - Camera snaps captures PREVIEWS are broken. Black screen.. !!! … Oops!! Capture name - date - time along top screen. #TESTED. .. I shall live with slow processing while holding out to sell + buy another phone.

DadagiSan I tried everything, restarting the phone, clearing Camera app data & cache. Updated to 2.5.5a same issue. Probably hardware issue.

After update of 2.5.5 in Nothing phone 2 camera quality is getting worst. The colours of photos feels like oppo Vivo quality. Before update camera quality is good but now it feels like I’m using oppo Vivo mobiles.

I don’t understand why the image processing when there are people in them is so bad, please, start over, Nothing® team, erase everything you have and start over, integrate the Google camera or something, please, I find it hard to accept that any camera you can download from the PlayStore takes better photos than the native stock camera of the NP2a. Everything else is magnificent to me, the performance of the NP2a is amazing, the screen, smoothness, battery, everything on the phone is very good, except for the image processing with people, please, help us.

This photo I took yesterday is a clear example, in most of the pictures where people appear, the skin tone is so unreal that it looks like a bad drawing, but in other shots, sometimes they come out with these kinds of blemishes, it’s obvious that the image processing is wrong and can be fixed, fire someone

I recently bought the Nothing 2a and I primarily use iphone 13. Personally, this phone is amazing and with slight improvements in some areas will make this phone unbeatable at it’s price segment.

Here are the key suggestions that I think will be extremely helpful for Nothing:

Stop throwing so much light on to the face. The portrait mode on nothing phone 2a needs serious attention.
Drop the highlights in the images by 20%. Phone 2a keeps messing up the highlights.
Improve the edge detection on Portray Mode as much as possible. I think 2a with slight changes in the image processing can reach or even beat iphone 13. The studio light and contour light effects of Iphone can be taken as a reference and can be a game changer for nothing if implemented correctly.
Don’t smoothen the images too much, a bit of grain is fine. It contributes to the overall aesthetics of the image.

Be subtle, don’t be aggressive like OnePlus/Oppo, they suck.

Anyone facing issues with edge detection? I am getting a separate layer around the subject especially near hair.

Need a gallery app from Nothing which allows to edit the photos on the go like Apple. It will be a game changer. So far pleased with the camera performance. But it tends to whiten the skin which kinda removes details from face. It needs to manage the highlights a bit better.

Over all the camera quality is improving with updates but,there are few things which make me sad about the camera are:

The processing time it takes after clicking the photo it feels like I am using a very weak processor phone of 2015
Second, problem is with camera is will clicking the photo if the is an slight movement in the object then photo will get blur,even if there is a v.slight movement only

And,this thing makes my nothing experience worst 😔 😔

It’s an request to nothing to improve this in camera 🙏

Pl share and like so that nothing can get to know about the problem 🙏

What needs to be improve:

Nothing seriously need to improve the ultrawide camera…it’s 50mp but it’s performing like 8mp camera….it’s can’t be able to retain some amount of Details and always end up clicking blurry images
Skin tone of the rear camera is not good , while in selfie the skin tone is more accurate
Sometimes their is ‘Halo effect’ in the images…should be reduced
Main camera should be improved
Sometimes it’s taking very good images and sometimes very bad…. should work on the consistency

We need to have more ways to take photos. I mean for example, coming from a 2017 samsung device at like android 9 or smthn, this feature i miss. It had the option to take photos using

“palm to capture”: where holding your palm up would take photo after a 2 second countdown

“Extra shutter button” which as the name suggests, gave an extra moveable shutter button on the screen

“Voice to capture” which would use keywords like “cheese” or “smile” etc to take photos.

“Tap to capture”, simply tap the screen to capture.

Nothing can easily implement these considering them integrating more difficult-to-implement features already, and they also have other phones to compare this feature to. They don’t have to create this for the first time without any standard to look up to.

Hopes for the best in the future regarding these features.

NidalAsmar I got my phone back There was no problem in the phone they reinstalled android and that fixed my problem but for a week, on last Friday the same issue came back, It appeared to be an app causing the issue.

I had Microsoft Teams app causing the issue I uninstalled it and cleared Camera app data & cache then restarted the phone and till now It’s working fine.
