Personally, I can understand why they would move on from the Glyphs (though I do like them).

My issue is that they have recently released products that people like and use Glyphs. Using the language “We killed the Glyph Interface” makes the recently released products appear obsolete and implies that nothing thinks they are no longer fit for purpose, which could ultimately affect sales of the products.

Now, I do believe this post is mainly to grab as much attention as possible and will be followed up with more context ie - we killed the Glyph Interface for the dot matrix etc and I have a feeling Gylphs will live on in ‘a models’ (I hope they do) but I wouldn’t have gone so strong with the wording unless they are going to follow it up reasonably quickly with more details.. Time will tell!

Django_Unhinged so the tweet says they have “killed” the glyphs. That could mean that they have got rid of them or it could mean that they have taken them to a new level ie they have killed the design. We’ll have to wait and see I suppose.

I think ceo himself said in many videos they won’t remove something that is their USP so I hope glyph might still exist

Probably it can be changed and maybe ,maybe put some lights on the side of the phone or around the screen like a blinking light for notifications from past phones

Maybe 1 or 2 pounds in production, nothing shouldn’t be a company who tries to sell the best price to performance but the best experience to price. Without any glyphs or something new it’s just like every other brand. But I don’t think they killing it

Django_Unhinged if they remove the glyph interface….so the nothing phone 3a and 3a pro would be the last phones with glyph like the iphone se - the last phone with fingerprint 😂 . There are rumours that nothing in planning to bring dot matrix display on back of the phone….like seen in the asus rog gaming phone

I’m glad we don’t know yet what they’re doing with the NP3. That keeps the whole story exciting 👍. You can see how boring the keynotes from the big players are. You know weeks before, what the devices look like etc. For this reason, I remain very curious to see what the NP3 will look like in the end and how strong the inner life is.

Django_Unhinged ok, I can understand your decision. A glitch that isn’t changing it’s funkionality and appearance makes tech boring again.

But you could make a more modern glyph. I made a concept with some cable cable ducts an under it there will be lights. Between the cable ducts are mirrors.

Hope we will have a more modern glyph next time.

Django_Unhinged If the Nothing phones are not different from other brands, what’s the point of buying them.

For stock android and stuff,we got 2 or 3 brands,for camera quality a lots of other brands

For performance both in economy and luxury price tag,a lot of phones.

Then why we bought this.. because its unique from others phones.I don’t know about other users, I bought it for this reason.

Back to OnePlus! They made simple looking phones. And they are fairly cheap.

This is a bad call for nothing, because there will be “nothing” too inspire me to stay. A good OS is not my main preference!!! , people look at the phone and design, no one ever said, WOW, that a great looking OS…….
