I’m facing the same issue.

After the recent update, my Nothing Phone 2 no longer recognizes fast charging when using the official 45W Nothing charger. As a result, it charges very slowly. I’ve tried restarting the phone multiple times, but the issue persists.

At first, I thought it might be a problem with the cable, but both the cable and adapter are working fine. To confirm, I also tested with a power bank that supports fast charging — still the same issue.

ive done some tests on my 2a phone. So far - charging to 60% in 30mins from 5% @ max 18.8v with charging setting limited to 80%. i always did this with custom roms to extend battery life. its a nice feature to have as stock. smart charging mode says it will slowly charge to lengthen battery life.

in TWRP there used to be a way to wipe battery charge information. - the ‘batterystats.bin‘ file. there are some play store apps that manage the same though not used for some years so cant vouch for the current state of play.

What hell is this,I’m using CMF 65w original charger bought 2799 to think it’s charge fast but nothing 2a didn’t allow this , and again my village temperature is very cool but my 2a getting hot around 42 to 43°C while simply browsing the internet 🙏🙏 atleast acknowledge the issue don’t say pps technology save battery health where it’s simply getting hot,I’ll never buy nothing mobile and don’t recommend until you fixed these

This is not a charging issue but correct behavior to prevent battery from overheating.

Try to turn it off, not use it during charging or get the phone in a room at lower temperature if you want to use fast charge.

RohithTony It’s their skill issue . But they wont admit it.. Try taking your device to Antartica and charge there. Hopefully PPS will work there fine.

RapidZapper Phone kept in AC room is taking 2+ hours for filling 15-100% and that too with screen turned off. And I am damn sure that my AC is not giving heat😐. Skill issues can’t be suger coated with features.

I think there’s a new bug on my phone 2a. I set battery health to 80% in custom charging mode but it always charges full without giving battery health notification. This bug was not present in earlier updates. Please fix this issue NOTHING, ASAP!

Have tested charging my 2a. Using a USB tester (battery guru reports 5w less than my USB tester) , i get peaks of 42w charging. My charger is just a simple 100w charger with PD3.0. When the phone was new, it would only charge at 28w max, but after a few cycles - it charges at faster speeds. Charging 50% takes about 30mins. My charging is set to 80% (custom charging mode not smart charging) and the room temperature is 25-27c.

update: After using my phone outside in 45c heat, charging was only 10w when i got home. After cooling the phone, charging started at 42w before tailing off. More of an FYI than probable cause for other peoples slow charging.
