Alexshax exactly! Since there is a considerable part of the screen that is wasted by sensors, they found a way to make it more “useful”. Notice that I used inverted commas because imo it’s not useful at all. It’s damn ugly.
Since our Nothing phones have only a very small hole for the selfie cam, I don’t find any reason to mess with it. Why create a “feature” that only exists on iPhones for the purpose of disguising that huge notch? It would be horrible to feel that Nothing is copying iOS in useless ways.
There is software available on the Play Store for users that want to imitate the iPhone’s dynamic island. Nothing doesn’t need to design apps for every little thing that already exists. It’s like solving problems that aren’t there. It’s just my two cents on this subject.
