Can I Disable or Alter Fast Charging?

Hi everyone!

(This is my first post in the nothing community, and I’m really happy to be part of this)

So in getting straight to the point i have a CMF Phone 1 and I’m looking to charge it at a normal speed instead of fast charging. (I have a 33W charger that doesn’t support PPS).

Does anyone know if there’s a way to disable fast charging on the CMF Phone 1, or if there are any tips or workarounds I can use with my current charger?

Hm I think you should read this article on the PPS charging to understand more about it. I don’t really think at least I don’t have any way or knowledge of how to do this with rooting your phone at the very least to start off. From there maybe you can. But here is the article I was talking about, I don’t necessarily think you need to worry about it all that much.

Just use the charger and after awhile check and be sure it’s not too hot or your phone is too hot just to be safe and you should be fine. I bought a generic GaN 3.0 from my basically local dollar store and it is working fine. No clue if it has PPS but I’m gonna assume not, I was honestly surprised it worked whenever I got it. But now after finding that article I mentioned, I get why it still works just is not as “efficient” like a real PPS charger may be.

Hey, thanks a lot for explaining all that really appreciate you taking the time to break it down for me. I’ll definitely check out the article and try to get a better grasp on how PPS charging actually works.

I’ll also keep an eye on the charger and make sure everything stays cool. Glad to hear your charger is working fine even without PPS. It’s kinda reassuring knowing that even the simple ones can still handle things decently. Not the most efficient maybe, but if it works and it’s safe, that’s what matters.

Maybe in the future i’ll get a GaN charger too, just in case the one i’m using stops working or starts acting up.
