You’re right. It’s disappointing that the Nothing Phone 2 still doesn’t support 120 FPS in BGMI, especially when more affordable models like the CMF Phone 1 and CMF Phone 2 Pro do.
This difference likely comes down to how game developers optimize for different chipsets. MediaTek processors, particularly the Dimensity series, seem to receive quicker support for higher frame rates in BGMI, possibly due to easier collaboration with Krafton. On the other hand, Snapdragon processors like the one in NP2 may need additional work between the device maker and Krafton to unlock similar performance.
Nothing has mentioned that FPS support depends entirely on Krafton, but it would still make sense for them to push for better optimization for NP2. Even if it’s not marketed as a gaming phone, users expect solid performance for popular titles like BGMI.
That said—it’s not a gaming phone and not exactly a camera phone either……
