Battery Question - Initialization

Planning to buy a CMF Phone 2 Pro, do I need to / is it recommended to “initialize” the battery? (Let it fully die and then charge to 100%).

synoim no don’t do that just turn off backup in initial setup and use the phone normally after few days turn on backup if you need it also turn off wifi and bluetooth scanning in initial setup

Samarth97 Got it, and that should mean that battery health is 100% right? Also, would you happen to know if it’s recommended that I charge it to 100% or 80% for the very first charge?

synoim charge it accordingly like id you want to have a good battery health for long term charge to 80% always and if you think it’s not going to be enough according to your usage then charge it to 90 or 100%

Never let it fully die. It will damage your battery every time you do it. And then set custom charging mode to 70 or 80 percent. Depending on how much you need in one day

I usually never worry if it goes to zero and charges to 100% and I plug it when I need to into a 30W fast charger.

Over the course of a year I’ll lose about 12% of capacity, which I’m OK with.

Over that first year, I’ll charge it roughly 160 times or once every two days.

Also this is based on it really is 5000mAh, which is going to be a design average rather than an actual value with the granularity of a single phone.

Can’t complain really and I can imagine I’d see any gain by babying it
