What would you like to say to the board at Nothing? (Q1 2025)

I would appreciate a Nothing Phone fully privacy oriented:

Having hardware switches to disable the microphone, camera and 4g/gps signal
Embedding at the os level an ad/tracker blocker

adbo I’m a Nothing Phone 3a user close to a month. I’m loving the minimalist approach of Nothing OS and their unique exterior design❤️. The Glyph Lights are also productive for me to avoid distractions during work💻. But, Nothing should slowly start to include their own applications for basic functionalities like Dialer, Clock, File Manager, etc,. Also, Essential Space should not be monetized if the rumours found to be true, since it’s one of the main USPs of the 3a Series and personally thinking, it won’t be an ethical approach if a company advertised their USP so much and then make it unusable for many. If that’s the case, it should have been told at the launch. Monetizing it now will definitely tarnish the goodwill among consumers.

Hey team, thanks for the open invite to share thoughts ahead of the next board meeting — always appreciate the transparency and opportunity to contribute.

Here are some of my thoughts from the past quarter:

📱 Phone (3a) Series:
Really excited about the design direction — Nothing continues to stand out in a sea of similar-looking devices. That said, I hope performance and camera upgrades remain a priority, especially in the mid-range space where competition is heating up. The launch communication was slick, though I’d love to see more focus on real-world comparisons or user stories in future campaigns.

🌌 Essential Space:
Love the concept, but it still feels a bit underutilized. Could we see more integrations or content that ties it into daily phone use? Maybe even an “Essential of the Week” or rotating spotlight on cool widgets or apps from the community?

🛠 2025 Community Edition Project:
Big fan of this initiative. It’s unique, bold, and a great way to build deeper loyalty. Would love more behind-the-scenes content or dev diaries as the project progresses — makes us feel more involved, not just consulted.

Give updates to old phones quickly
Example Nothing Phone 2
Frames are dropping while playing the game
The summer heat drops the frames so I play with the air conditioner (A/c)on
The quality of the camera has degraded a lot i.e. very bad
A phone dialer of nothing is needed for automatic recording

Perhaps a half-baked suggestion for the board, community widgets and applications are a bit neglected (understandable considering the amount of resources necessary). Any chance of a verified by Nothing process. No clue how that could feasibly work if apps are downloaded on the Play store. Some great apps here, but I’d be a lot happier knowing the app has been vetted by nothing before installing. Could be something like adhering to a minimum Nothing UX guideline and a check for malware and no unwanted ad tracking (as I assume Nothing built in apps aren’t doing this, and other apps on play store are horrific in this regard).

Thanks of this opportunity. I have few points i would like to present:

It’s Time to consider African Market. people are so excited here when they see the uniqueness and beautiful design of nothing phones
Starting with Phone 3, it is time for nothing to make its phones regardless they are mid-ranges or flagships is to have IP68 protection standard.
lastly the board should think about Tablet Nothing

I think the Nothing shall try to put some time in nomenclature in naming the phoned and accessories. Sometimes it’s really confusing to understand which is new and which is old. Secondly I feel the software on the phone is build and designed to perfection,still I feel the need to improve the compatability zone with windows laptop so we can have certain features that samung provides.

The Glyph interface is visually striking but lacks deep functional utility for many users.

Suggested Improvement: Expand third-party app integration, add customizability (like user-defined patterns or color zones), and consider functional additions (e.g., for alarms, charging states, or notifications).

Thanks for reaching out here for feedback. I think the support teams approach to faults and known issues, needs to be reviewed. I have personally had ongoing issues with my phone, initially flagged within the first couple of weeks of use. I have found that my issues are not unique, despite the approach of the support team. I need to replace my nothing phone after a short 6 months of use. Due to this experience, I am very reluctant to replace my phone with another nothing product, despite my enthusiasm for the brand. This feedback is about the support team’s policy and approach to faults and known issues not the service itself- everyone who engaged with me was very polite and replied in a reasonable timeframe.

I would like to see some changes, I think it should be long time ago added

Setting to charge slowly through night to save battery life. Now it’s like only charging to 80% with fast charge and some minutes before waking up it charges to 100% and second option is charging to particular percent of battery and it fast chargin all time.
Return regular updates to community widgets, in my opinion it has a lot of potiencial

Numeric digits are inconsistent with the Inter font. There are two variations of the same digits in the OS, and they get used randomly throughout the UI, making the experience inconsistent. Notice the two different styles of numbers in the same place — specifically 3, 4, 6, and 9.

NOVA Yes I know man thanks for making it more clear, the best case for this is the status bar clock that is most of the times in the above font.

Also man the Inter font is the biggest scam even though the font is really good it’s not implemented correctly that is for sure, I have like more examples for this as well, it’s just a waste of time man, I tried reaching out to everyone no one actually mentions it, like they agree with me but they don’t actually stand up for it.

I feel like it’s just a waste now, because I have been talking about this from start of NOS 3.0 people agreed that even they see it but when it comes to post or something (talking about some youtubers, X content creater) they just don’t speak for it.

The Inter font is not even consistent in the Settings application, Here are some proofs:

If you see closely in the first image 4,7,9 numbers and see the same numbers in second image it’s clearly different.

Like what should I even say.

Also Inter font doesn’t work with most of the applications, you can check any google application you won’t see it in Inter font, then X as well, even in Youtube at some places it has different font.

Like Nothing what is this🤔

Whats the point of providing a new font if it doesn’t apply system wide and doesn’t even work with almost any apps.

Atleast Roboto is consistent.

adbo hmm for the cmf phone 1 and other sucessor for this phone i would like for more insights on how the unique feactures of the phones works. Also camera needs to be optimized it has more beautifications in cameras from default.
