(3a) Pro Screen - Question

This is a strange one. Had my Nothing Phone 3a Pro for a couple of days now.

When I tap the top half of the screen, it feels like there is some give as if there is a hollow area behind the screen. The bottom half of the screen is rock solid as you would expect. Is this something to do with the camera housing?

To be clear, everything is working as expected. It’s just I’m used to phone screens being solid when being tapped whereas the top half of the 3a Pro feels like it moves when I tap it.

I disabled haptic feedback to check it wasn’t that but the issue is still there.

Anybody else noticed this?

RichC I too am experiencing this issue, I have had my phone 3 days and really like using it this far. But this morning I noticed the difference in sound and felt like the screen was flexing to make contact with something behind it. Almost like taking a curved piece of plastic and laying in on a table then tapping. You get to sound one your finger making contact then the flex down to table. Best way I know to describe it. Not a deal breaker for me so far, just hope my screen doesn’t fall out of frame one day.

Thanks hrry. I think the display isn’t sitting properly in its mount which is making it convex. I’ll get in touch with support.

Yes that is a good way to describe it. Like a plastic card that is slightly curved. It’s not a deal breaker for me either.

Hi there! I have the same problem. My top half of the screen makes that sound but only when I hold my 3a Pro in vertical position. Were you able to find the cause of that sound? Thank you!

L.E. I noticed something else. When the camera is on, that sound almost completely disappears. I can’t explain what causes it, it’s very strange.

merlin2008 hmph… you’re right. using the camera does stop that sensation from occurring. it must be something to do with the haptics being disabled when using the camera app.

I think these are vibrations from the camera housing because the lens are mobile. But when you use the camera, the lens beocmes fixed.
