Delayed notifications when device is locked

Just updated to nothing OS 3.0 stable version today and since then I have been noticing that my mobile data is automatically going off (it’s turned on only)...

I have the same problem with my cmf 2. So annoying as otherwise I really like the phone. I tried all the tricks mentioned here (disabled adaptive battery, enabled background data, gave all the apps unlimited data usage permission etc.) but nothing helped. I contacted the support and their first answer was to try all the tricks I already tried. When I told that those didn’t work, they asked me to record a log when this happens so that the technical team can have a look at this issue. Recording the log is though quite annoying as sometimes opening the screen doesn’t always bring up the notification and e.g. I sometimes get notification from a new email an hour or more late… I’ll let you know what the technical team answers once I get the log recorded and hear back from them.

I also got a whole set of tips and support from the team. I had most of it already done.

If nothing helps I was also advised a factory reset, and for me that is the ultimate thing and I don’t want to do that and go through everything again from scratch 😔

I really liked this phone and it’s a real shame that it has such software problems.

I read the rave reviews about it and wonder if it’s just me or you who have been hit like this????

Support have promised that they will also continue testing on my case and to let me know what they come up with.

When I know more I will also share.

I just updated to Galaga-V3.2-250526-1427, and so far both of my WhatsApp is receiving the notification when the phone is on standby. Any of you guys are experiencing the same?

I’m on Galaga-V3.2-250507-1139-EEA. I have no pending update. These problems, I am still having, are precisely on this version of nothing OS 3.2

Your version is the new one? This is a new OS version on CMF phone 2 or you have another phone model from Nothing?

This is on my cmf phone 2 pro. Because of this issue, I stop using about 1 week until yesterday I saw there is an update. Updated and it seems working well for me. Btw I reset the factory settings as well.

I also got this update and it didn’t change anything. Locking the phone cuts off mobile data and Wi-Fi completely. Only calls and SMS via the mobile come in.

When you unlock the phone, the internet comes back and all related notifications come in.

I am still waiting for a solution 😞

I’m hesitant about buying the new NP3. Notifications are extremely important, especially for work. And I’m not going to spend €800-900 if it doesn’t work 100%. Functions.

I’m still doing various tests because they asked me to from support.

Today I noticed that disabling the Smart 5G feature helps in the context of messages from communication apps, but the other pushes from other apps of various types are still not coming in.

On the CMF 1 phone we also have, enabling this feature causes it to switch to 4G when locked, and when unlocked it switches back to 5G if you are in range.

On the CMF 1 you can see this is great because as soon as you unlock it, the network designation changes from 4G to 5G.

On CMF 2 you don’t get this effect. If Smart 5G is enabled then the network doesn’t switch to 4G on unlocking just shuts down altogether. It switches back to 5G after unlocking.

I work as a QA Engineer so I have experience in this subject, and in mobile phone testing.

They have misplaced a client who knows what they are writing about 😂😂😂

They got my logs, screen records and screenshots and are working on the topic.

I’m doing some tests with different settings.

I think with buying NP3 it might be a bit risky. I found that out myself when I bought CMF2 in a pre-order.

It’s possible that the software will still be the same, but it could also be that it’s some kind of technical problem related to the CMF2-only electronics. An error in the selection of components or the distribution of them inside. Although CMF 1 works great and doesn’t have these problems.

Maybe something physically disables the antennas when locking the screen and no software fix will help here.

Let’s hope not, but I know that could also be the case. One can speculate and talk for a long time yet. I hope they finally get it right.

thetomf However, I’m having problems with the NP 2a. I don’t have the CMF. Some people are having problems with notifications, but I don’t think it’s too many. This makes me wonder what the problem is. I’m looking forward to NP3, but the problem should be found and solved.
