I’m sure I’m not the only one who desperately wished the Phone (3) wasn’t censored in the Android Device Showcase of the Phone (3a)… so I took it upon myself to create a rough mock-up of the Phone (3) just based off the few pixels we did see.
First of all, the phone is grey. That much I can tell. Secondly, the top part is rather black, both vertically and horizontally, indicating the camera placements. I think it is very possible Nothing pulls out another camera bump for the Phone (3), but the Phone (2) doesn’t have an NFC coil in the design. That’s the weird thing inside of the camera bump, if you didn’t know. And a black camera bump is boring. So I wanted to make a camera bump-free design with a lot of stuff going on with the cameras unlike any other design on the market, but still keeping the rather iconic glyph pattern of the (1) and (2). And I did just that by combining the design of (2), (3a) and (3a) Pro.

What I came up with was an abomination that was somehow still fairly true to Nothing, and in my opinion, very fitting for the state of the company. The design is mature, bolder than ever (but definitely strange), and I think this design checks all the boxes for a flagship Nothing phone.
The standout is the cameras, in my opinion. I don’t even think I knew what I was doing when I sketched them out, it just came to me randomly. I basically took a Phone (2), replaced the wide and ultrawide lens with a pericope, placed a big wide sensor next to the periscope centered in the design, and put a horizontal camera bar beneath the wide sensor with the ultrawide, flash and something else. It could be laser focus, a different telephoto, as long as it isn’t a macro camera… I can’t allow that.
And then I really just tried to follow Nothing’s design principles, trying to add depth and some variation in the shapes, making it different enough from the (1) and (2) but not so much that it looks like it isn’t from the same phone line as them.
I also added two new glyphs just for fun, two dots near the charging coil because dots are pretty darn relevant to Nothing. It isn’t really my job to come up with new a functionality for them, but I think it could be cool for them to slowly pulse together when reverse charging. And check it out, when you censor it, it looks like this!

Not 1:1 obviously, but it’s dark in all the right places. What do you guys think? Did I cook with this one?
Also, feel free to replicate this design in 3D if you want to. That would be absolutely sick. Just credit me!
