Issue Summary:
In the previous version, I was fully able to hide any app from direct access using the Hidden Apps feature (accessible by sliding right from the app drawer). This was incredibly useful for keeping my UI clean and minimal by only showing frequently used apps while hiding rarely used ones. Accessing hidden apps was simple and efficient.
Current Version: Pacman-V3.0-250429-1922-IND
Phone: Nothing phone 2a
Problems with the Current Version:
1. Limitation on Hidden Apps:
Now only a limited number of apps can be hidden.
This restricts how I used the feature and negatively impacts usability.
2. Separate Password Requirement:
A new password is now required just to use the Hidden Apps feature which is good but also allow this feature to use without password.
This wasnāt necessary before and now acts more like a secret vault rather than a utility feature. While this may be good for privacy, itās inconvenient for regular usage.
3. Widgets Removed:
Some widgets like for ChatGPT are missing:
Previously available widgets: Conversation Mode, Write Mode, Visual Search Mode.
Now only Conversation Mode is available.
Earlier, widgets still worked for hidden apps (which was great). Now, widgets stop working if the app is hidden.
Impact:
The ability to hide unnecessary apps and keep my app drawer clean was one of my favorite features and a key reason I enjoyed using this launcher/system. With this change, the app drawer now feels cluttered and less user-friendly. This significantly affects my experience and makes me consider reverting to the previous version.
Request:
Please consider bringing back:
The ability to hide unlimited apps.
Widget functionality for hidden apps.
Previous widget options for apps like ChatGPT.
These changes made the interface cleaner and my usage more productive. Thank you for your attention.
