Taking nothing from the earth, leaving nothing behind – sustainability is at the core of Nothing.
Today we’re reflecting back on our achievements over the past year with our Annual Sustainability Report for 2024 and the Phone (3a) Series Sustainability Report. The reports detail the incredible progress we’ve made in creating mindfully crafted technology that respects our planet.
Now in our fifth year, we have reaffirmed our environmental responsibility and commitment to sustainability. From easy swaps to hardware issues, we have explored better solutions at every stage of our product development, upholding our unique design while minimising our environmental impact.
Report highlights:
Phone (3a) Series: The carbon footprint for Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro is 51.3 kg CO2e, reduced by 7% as compared to our baseline scenario, which excludes sustainability initiatives. This achievement stems from our commitment to using recycled materials and renewable energy in manufacturing.
A product of products: With Phone (2a), we developed a new recycling process; repurposing plastic waste from Ear (2) into Phone (2a) components. Our comprehensive approach to sustainability focuses on product design, material sourcing, packaging and supply chain management to minimise environmental impact and promote circularity.
Innovative use of recycled materials: With over 50% of plastic parts containing recycled materials, Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro are built with recycled materials from the inside out, addressing the environmental impact of extracting and processing raw materials.
Greener chemistry: We have implemented stricter substance management requirements and now prohibit the use of various harmful substances across all our product lines. This includes PVC, brominated flame retardants (BFR) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).
