Not fully. It is a complex question.
LDAC has 3 different bitrate profiles:
- 330 kbps
- 660 kbps
- 990 kbps
EarFun Air Pro 4 (80 usd) works fine using LDAC with maximum bitrate 990/909kbps.
Technics AZ80 (300 usd) works only with LDAC 330kbps bitrate with Nothing Phone (1). 990 kbps bitrate doesn’t work, when I choose it using developer options the sound speed became like 2x faster and the sound permanently interrupts. In 660kbps mode behavior is almost the same. LDAC 330kbps quality is on AAC level, worse than AptX.
Nothing Phone (1) has no option to force the 990 kbps bitrate mode (for example, Honor Magic 6 Pro has option to force max bitrate LDAC quality) , so each time you connect your TWS the quality will be in Auto mode. My experience says that it is always 660 kbps, you have to select 990 kbps mode manually in developer options EACH TIME.
So if the question is literally “Does Phone 1 even support LDAC audio at all?” answer is “yes”. If the question is “Does Phone 1 support high quality LDAC audio, e.g. 990 kbps bitrate?” the answer is “Fifty-fifty chance”.
