Screen Dimming Issue During 4K 30FPS Video Recording on Nothing Phone (2a)

I’m encountering an issue while recording video in 4K at 30FPS on my Nothing Phone (2a). The entire screen dims slowly and then returns to normal after a few seconds, repeating this cycle throughout the recording. Despite this, the video itself records normally. I’ve tried taking breaks between recordings, but the problem persists.

Hi there ! This is actually a very common scenario. The phone automatically dips screen brightness while recording videos that are particularly high quality to preserve the battery capacity and health and also to prevent overheating to an extent. This function is not restricted to Nothing devices as phones from other manufacturers such as realme, xiaomi, infinix and even oneplus lowers the display brightness automatically during video recording. You can mitigate this issue to an extent by disabling adaptive brightness option via the status bar or in the settings app. Hope this helps !
