Initial Voice Muted on WhatsApp Video Calls – Nothing Phone (3a)

Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed a recurring issue on my Nothing Phone 3a during WhatsApp video calls. Whenever I start speaking, the other person hears my voice very faintly for the first second or so. After that, the audio becomes normal—as long as I keep talking. It feels like the mic takes a moment to kick in, or maybe noise cancellation is filtering out the start of my speech.

I’m currently on the latest software version, and this doesn’t happen in regular calls just WhatsApp video calls. It’s a bit frustrating having to raise my voice at the start every time to be heard.

Is anyone else facing this? Would love to know if there’s a fix or if it’s being looked into.

I’m experiencing the same issue with my Nothing Phone 3a Pro. Occasionally, when I receive a regular phone call (not through WhatsApp), I answer it, but there’s no audio — I can’t hear the caller, and they can’t hear me, even though the call is active.
