Hello Everyone!
I’ve purchased my Nothing Phone 3a a few days ago and find it terrific so far! (I’ve been an iPhone user mostly)
I’ve tried searching here on the forum and elsewhere on the net, but couldn’t quite resolve the issue with the phone connecting via hotspot to my car’s infotainment system (Mazda 3).
What I did:
I’ve paired bluetooth and wi-fi successfully, added Mazda to trusted devices via extended unlock feature on the phone and it all connects well only if I manually unlock the phone before ignition is turned on or before starting the car in accessory mode (i.e. I need to unlock my phone manually each time I get into the car).
Even so, after the connection is successful it all disconnects after a while once I stop driving and get away from the car with my phone.
As soon as I try to connect with phone’s screen locked the car won’t connect automatically (‘Nothing Phone 3a’ will be visible in the wi-fi list, but it will require clicking on it and re-entering a password).
Could anyone help out, please? I’m not familiar with automation, but I’ve tried creating a Macro on Macdroid in order to automatically enable hotspot, but no luck with that (most likely, I haven’t done it correctly and in this case would you be able to provide a detailed step-by-step instructions how to set it up properly, please?).
Perhaps there’s something else and obvious in the settings that I need to enable/disable?
Ideally, I’d like to keep my phone (with hotspot enabled) in my pocket when entering the car and have the hotspot recognised and connected with the car each time without any action on my part, if possible.
In fact hotspot car connection was the main reason why I’ve changed to Android and thought Apple was to blame regarding that.
Thank you very much and I appreciate any help!
