Hello! I shall introduce myself, as a 7th grader from the International School Of Belgrade design project, which communicated with the Nothing community in order to allow me to participate.
Presenting to you: TILT AND SEE. There are so many phones out there, simple, single-coloured. We need something that appeals to both audiences. A design that would express the feelings and likings of a large audience. But then there’s the question: which colours? Here’s my solution: every colour, but on black. That sounds like such a bother and an eyestrain, before you see just how it looks like.
But of course, a generic design without any special functionality would not stick out. Until, I did a lot of research. Being inspired by so many different things- but especially lava lamps and lenticular images. Lenticular images are images that can change between 2 or more different versions of themselves depending on the angle. For this part, I will present my design and how it works (credits for original map are on the picture)

I have 2 different layers, designed especially for the lenticular structure. I have found out that many lenticular images need small bumps, BUT! Problem solved. As you can see, this image is totally flat. I got inspired by a gift card I got once. It has no bumps, but you can just tilt and see the image. In my opinion, the best way would be to blur the front image. Once you tilt it, the blur would look more faded from the angle. There, as you can imagine, the image would be both consistent and looking nicely.
But why would anyone need this?! That’s the ultimate question. You see, I have seen many kids like “cool” colours that can blend well together on a dark surface. Something shocking, that creates an atmosphere. Although this is not much, I believe this design would be great for a younger audience. Then, for the adults: you’d have the black. It neutralises the feeling of the flashy colours, and allow this phone to be both noticed and staying appealing.
Lastly, in order to show off my inspiration, I would like to show my moodboard, just for the fun of it, and for encouragement that some people might need
