Phone 3a pro durability

I accidentally dropped my phone today from a height of ~5ft.

Was pretty sure my phone would have broken after hearing the noise,

and was surprised to see there wasn’t even a single mark (maybe I was very lucky).

And also mind you, that my phone doesn’t even have a case. It fell straight onto a ceramic tile floor.

Pretty impressed, honestly.

Would love to know your experience with the phone durability too

RajathJ I’m happy to hear that you were lucky with that drop. If I were you I would put a cover on your 3a Pro regardless. I’m just trying to give some reasonable advice. My Nothing Phone 2a has fallen twice on my home’s ceramic tile floor but it has a case slapped on and a screen protector.
The drop angle and area of impact vary and a case always provides extra protection.

RajathJ nothing phone 1 absolutely beast so many times dropped without cover only 1 small dent and some colour peal off rest rock solid built 🥶

I’ve always been a bit skeptical about using a case because it slightly takes away the design.

I did get a screen protector, tho.

But yah, I’ll be looking for a good case too, ig it’s better than having a cracked glass..

RajathJ you’re welcome. I agree that a case isn’t the most beautiful thing… but like you said, it’s better than having a cracked glass.

RajathJ You’re actually lucky there. But true, I don’t even get why Nothing can’t make their phones sturdy enough so users don’t need covers. what’s the point of spending so much time on great designs if everyone ends up covering them? might as well just design covers instead.

anujj no company makes phones sturdy enough to withstand any kind of fall or drop. I see Samsung S2x ultra phones shattered because of a “bad” drop, iPhones ending with front and back destroyed by “bad luck” that cost AT LEAST 500€ to repair and many other phones that might resist one, two or three drops but sooner rather than later they will break.

And I guess you know that a good transparent case will be a lifesaver while still being able to show the great designs of the phones.
I have a Spigen Ultra Hybrid case on my 2a and it doesn’t distract me from the beautiful back panel.

If you expect a phone to be almost indestructible then buy a CAT phone for example. They’re awfully designed, heavy as rocks and they definitely don’t have the nice features of a Nothing Phone. You can’t have beauty and strength combined at such prices.

mafcarvalho samsung and apple don’t put that much effort into designing the back panel of their phones compared to nothing. nothing really invests their time in designing their phones, and that’s how they stand out when it comes to design. i’m not asking for an indestructible phone, but just something good enough that i don’t have to use any of those cases. the clear covers turn yellow, and the rest of the other types are just pure embarrassment. and this is my whole point. when you’re investing serious time into designing the back of the phones (which i’m a huge fan of, btw, like everyone else), then why not come up with something to safeguard it without hiding it behind a case. and they must be trying it. well, who knows.

anujj I had the same idea about clear covers becoming yellowish with time. Most of them do. Now I’m using a Spigen Ultra Hybrid for about 8 months and it stills looks like new. It was well worth the price it cost.
