Also experiencing the same issue with the Phone (2). They gave the usual copy-and-paste NexPG solution, which clearly never worked. I’ve already sent it in for repair — they claimed the issue had been resolved, but that wasn’t the case. Their suggestion to completely disable auto-dimming was quite disappointing; in sunlight, the screen was practically unreadable, just as it is in low light when auto-dimming is enabled.
They refused to address the software/permissions issue, claiming it was an isolated case — which it clearly isn’t, and it seems to be spreading across other Nothing devices as well. Still waiting for a proper fix.
The only thing I can think of is that I’ve applied the official Nothing case and screen protector, which might interfere with the brightness sensor — although I really doubt that’s the actual issue. Still, it would be helpful to know if any of you are also using a screen protector.
