CMF Phone 1 - March Update?

March has ended, and I am still waiting for the OS update. There are a few bugs in my device.

CMF1_hacker Sure, £169 is a good deal—but a “bargain” shouldn’t mean we’re stuck with silence after the sale. It’s still a smartphone, not a disposable gadget. People aren’t asking for flagship-level updates, just consistent support and a bit of care from the brand. If expecting that is too much, maybe the pricing isn’t the problem—the mindset is.

AkhilAkhil_dze21zIfcN there have been many updates since release tho. I think that NOS 2.6 had 7 hotfixes as an example

Missing features

They have still not added Dynamic refresh rate we have only option high or low refresh rate but why they mentioned text like dynamic refresh rate help to save more battery life.

Permanent AOD features. As all we now that cmf is having amoled display still they have not added permanent AOD features.

Issue or bugs

The charging speed of the device is decreasing after every update

The battery draining is increasing after every update

The camera still not well optimised. Some time the image is like over saturated and some time it takes blurry photos.

Facing inconsistency in 5g network.

Facing issue in gaming like lagging inconsistency in the ping.

There is a unintentionally touch issue facing while scrolling social media.

I have reported many times in feedback but they give only one reply yet to supported these features and give basic tips in settings.

Even though we are also facing a lot of bugs 🐛 we are still waiting for the update; they may fix it.

DId the update make any difference? It said the gallery is here which was already there and there is nothing new. We didn’t get the new camera app. Google photos still opens from the camera and nothing gallery is still barebone. Also, is it just me or they ruined the weather app and the new nothing x app? They said all new ‘3.0’ inspired design. I think both the new app ui’s are horrifyingly ugly. They don’t even have many native apps and they destroyed the ones that made nothing, nothing. The update has also made no difference in the bugs, or the overall smoothness. There is nothing new. Also just received a 77mb nothing gallery update from play store which makes no difference. Dear nothing, if you can’t make new softwares or ui’s, at least don’t destroy the ones that are already good?!?! Man i miss the old nothing x app

Wish they added atleast the double tap to wake lockscreen. I hate the one tap to show lockscreen. Nothing Gallery seems forever beta so I disabled it. 🤣

I do use pop-up window to watch/listen to the news on Youtube and I am looking forward to the ClearAll option for all the windows that I needlessly open.

In other news, that CMF Phone 2 Pro looks like a dog with MTK D7300Pro, so I’m quite happy with my purchase of the CMF1 for £169.

CMF1_hacker These updates are typically rolled out in waves, so far the update isn’t even listed on Nothing’s update bot. But it surely starts getting rolled out.

Yeah, I fully agree.

I just found a new git with all OTA updates, so I can keep track again.

I’m OK with this and am excited for two of the new updates (pop-up window-in-window and close all windows).

on the topic of number of updates, it seems that the for the CMF1:

released with 02 JUL NOS 2.6 ROM

NOS 2.6 received 8 updates over these months (JUL x 2, AUG x 2, SEP, OCT, NOV, DEC … all in 2024)

NOS 3.0 beta in DEC 2024 (NOV non-beta, FEB, APR)

it seems that the new one is Tetris-V3.0-250409-1734 … but I’ll wait for the OTA update to arrive in the UK.

so, since JUL 2024, we’d had 8 updates for NOS 2.6

1 NOS 3.0 beta + 3 updates with this one.

12 total updates with the beta NOS 3.0 (that’s better than one for month since release).

I should be OK with that for a £169 phone.
