Essential space - how essential is it?

After having a look on the use case of this feature, I think more than using it will be an accidental press and as there is no option to change the use case...

Essential Space feature is a very welcoming and unique feature. I’d like it to be more.

Taking quick notes/Notes manually, adding ToDo’s, journaling along the way with photos we capture and many more additions to these type of ideology, one space productivity is a killer. Kinda like mixture of Essential Space, Pixel Screenshot & MyMind, Evernote app mixture.

I purchased Nothing phone 3a pro only for the essential space feature. That’s the only feature I started using from day 1. Even posted a comment about it here earlier.

But few days ago. I found out that they’re asking unnecessary permissions such as full gallery permissions just to take and save screenshots. I posted about it 4 days ago

and enquired about it to the team. So far no response from them. Yes, It’s a good feature. But, are you willing to share the whole album? Let the AI collect it, process it and let it use it to train their model?

That’s the question we all have to ask ourselves.

In the Nothing Phone (3a) presentation Carl Pei did one month ago, he presses the Essential Key and puts the phone face down. A few minutes later he receives a complete summary of what the people in the room said.

When will we see that function and why nobody is talking about it and is not excited about it? I cannot wait for it!

Dreamlands why has no one commented on this. I’ve literally been looking how to do that since I got the phone a month ago. Is it just not something enabled yet ? It also counted down on the glyph I thought as well ?

What if you could store all your playlists from different platforms (Spotify SoundCloud Apple Music etc) in the same place.

I came up with a software brief submission that does something along these lines do check it out and consider voting if you like my idea 🙂

MichaelL_UBg8b8AitU I don’t know. Probably people are not very paying attention. It’s in the presentation, it’s one of the reasons why I bought the Phone 3a, to summarize my D&D sessions, and it’s not available (yet?) and no one on the internet noticed it. I’m very sad.

Dreamlands yeah the release presentation when he is showing off the new phones right ?

It was one of the things I noticed and made my decision to purchase as I have such a need for something like that and voice recorder is not the solution. Hopefully it comes on a future update.

kanishka_0 yes I’ve heard so many people criticizing it but to me it was actually pretty useful. Im still studying so every time I come across a document or an exam time table i tap on the button and it sets up reminders, another useful function i found out was that if I save a movie ticket in my essential space it keeps a reminder an hour before the movie. Pretty cool and useful to me but of course most people wouldn’t agreed but I’d say it’s subjective
