Well I have an idea and I feel that it is intuitive enough (not sure if it is super elegant though)

We’re all familiar with the analog clock. Why not implement it with the lights as shown in the image?
The idea is to light up the LEDs based on where the clock hands are supposed to be.
(Light up everything from the 12 am LED(top) to where the clock hands will be for the hour LED strip. i.e. for 6 AM, the right half of the hours LED strip would glow completely)
Another way to do it would be to just have a few LEDs glow precisely where the clock hands will be(right at the bottom for 6 AM/PM). This could be a little more battery efficient. This feels better since we have a gap between the 2 and 3 hours(10 and 15 mins) where there are no LEDs. So, the former implementation would not look proper
Similarly for the minutes LED strip.
Ofcourse, it won’t be always ON. It’ll show the time when you shake it, similar to the charging level indicator.
