Since I’m often in places where there’s no wi-fi, I rely heavily on my 5G connection and my mobile hotspot. I use it with my MacBook Pro, like I always did before too. I have tried different configurations, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, with and without WPA-3 protection. The speed when I’m on 5G with the mobile is fine, but when I switch on the hotspot and start using it with the MacBook Pro the speed is much much slower on my Mac. Hugely slower. I did some tests using the same online tool on the Mac and the mobile. Let’s say that it looks like the hotspot has ⅕ of the speed I have with my 5G using the smartphone. The Mac is the only device connected to the hotspot by the way, so the connection is not shared with other devices.
Plus the hotspot is often disabled by Nothing OS telling me that the hotspot temperature is too high.
This is quite a problem because I need the hotspot for my job and before, with an old Motorola Moto G 5G, everything worked just fine. That smartphone was terrible for some things , but the hotspot worked like a charm.
Is there anyone experiencing the same problem?
