This is not a paid or influencer review. Please correct me if I am wrong in any part of my review.
TLDR: I felt like I was trapped into this company by social media influencers. It’s not that phone that simply works internationally . Support only exists on book as of now and need to be more productive.
Background- I am coming from iPhone 13 / Samsung s23. I genuinely want to support what Nothing is doing in this space.
I work 6/8 months is Australia and rest in India. So this review is based on usage of phone in two different countries.
Legal: if I have time and money, I can challenge Flipkart in Indian consumer court. Flipkart failed to mentioned that this phone is meant to use in India only at the point of sale. It did mentioned on Nothing box , my understanding of law is they have to advise at point of sale as well.
Ordered -11/03 on flipkart.
Before doing the iOS transfer , I decided to check the NoS for few weeks to make sure it works.
The battery life started as 2 day phone and had some minor app crashes time to time during the initial days.
I travelled to Australia in first week of April for work and by mid April I decided to transfer my data from iOS. I have to reset the phone to do it and was stuck on AUTHENTICATING THE SIMCARD / Valid Indian sim screen for ⅔ days . This is using Airtel sim with roaming activation in Australia. the text messages from India are coming on Airtel sim during this time.
After contacting supporting and providing invoice, my personal details , It finally reactivated after ⅔ days.
Since then the experience of using N3a in day to day life is bit letting down with issues.
App crashes randomly, while browsing, while using Gpay, while listening to Spotify , navigation etc.
battery drains constantly- it started as a 2 day phone , now I have to charge at night with same usage.
The phone restarts randomly.
I thought may be a reset could fix these issues and I reset the phone which is the biggest mistake I did , because I am stuck again on AUTHENTICATING THE SIMCARD /valid Indian sim screen waiting a reply from the support team to help me out. Again this message using Airtel sim with roaming activated.
Design- the phone design is interesting but the sharp corners are not that comfortable to hold naked. yes I use all my phones with out case.
Camera- average quality and it’s not an issue.
Support- it exists but they need a lot of learning / training to be more productive.
Nothing as a company needs to improve the OS / customer experience .
I have to rethink my decision before purchasing future nothing devices.
I do agree that every phone has its own issues, but iphone and Samsung wont let me down but N3a has while using the core functionality.
