Hello, I’m Rasul from Madurai, India.
I’ve been exploring new phone options, and I’m really drawn to the Nothing Phone series — especially because of its unique design and clean UI. As a tech enthusiast, I feel the Nothing Phone suits my personality perfectly. I love the aesthetics, the software experience, and the whole vibe of the brand.
However, I’ve noticed something odd — in my area, almost nobody recommends Nothing. Everyone strongly suggests Vivo or Oppo instead. Even local retailers push those brands over Nothing, and I rarely see the Nothing 3a available offline here.
One of the biggest concerns I keep hearing is about after-sales service. People say that if something happens to the phone — like a cracked screen — it’s really difficult to get it repaired unless you’re in a Tier-1 city. That scares me a bit, because if I run into any major issue, it might be a big risk.
For context, I’ve been using a Vivo phone for the past 5 years. It served me well, with no lags for around 3.5 to 4 years. It only started slowing down recently. So, I’ve had a good experience with that brand, which makes me even more hesitant to switch.
Still, when I compare phones online — Nothing seems to offer better value, UI, and design. I’m genuinely torn between following what everyone around me suggests (Vivo) and going with what I personally love (Nothing).
So my question is to the community:
Why isn’t Nothing being recommended more in places like mine?
Is the risk of service really that high?
Would you still recommend it to someone in my situation?
Any honest advice would be greatly appreciated 🙏
