Android redesign announced - Material You Expressive

Google has officially introduced Material Design 3 expressive and Android redesign based on it principles on their Android show today and man it Awesome and Exciting. It give the system UI it’s own personality and the initial impressions looks so much fun with every fine details (tasty 🤤)

The reveal was shown as Pixel devices with their redesigned software but the core design elements will be there in AOSP, as it was with Android 12 Material You. (That’s my best guess 🙃)

So it will be exciting to see what NOTHING do with this new design overhaul of Android, how it will be integrated and how it will align feel along with Nothing’s design philosophy. The aim of Nothing is to “make tech fun again” also giving the user control over the tech rather than tech controlling the user. And MD3 expressive makes android fun, and it will be so awesome to see those changes along with Nothing’s own touch.

And with recent video of Carl for Android show, I guess Nothing’s version of A16 will unveiled along with Phone (3).
Super Excited for all these!

I think if you like material you design so buy google pixel, nothing are specializing only on white/black colors.

vovan-v It’s not like that buddy, Nothing OS has elements of Material you (You can see the system adapts the colours you chose in wallpaper section) and many AOSP components as Nothing doesn’t change every bit of Android source. Though primary colours of Nothing designs are white and black and they look awesome to me.

And MD3 is not just about colours it about the look, the feel, the animations…. and how the user interact, so I am wondering how it will come out at the end .

I’m interested by what I’ve seen so far, a focus on customisation and animations. I hope we see some of this feed the future of Nothing OS. I do feel like Android are doing a good thing with these overhauls. I’m not intrigued to see how Apple counter.

It seems that Nothing itself hinted at its own redesign of the interface. It’s high time for Nothing OS to become its own OS and not just AOSP. If you liked the presentation with the new Material you, then you can buy Google Pixel. “Nothing” is going its own way, and every year Nothing OS acquires more and more elements in the aesthetics of Nothing.
