I own a couple of nothing earbuds and I am extremely disappointed with the durability of the product. All the nothing audio products I own gave up on me just at the point of warranty expiration which makes me question the durability and reliability these and makes me lose faith in the brand.
The below are the issues I faced:
1) Nothing ear stick:
The ear stick is a looker the design is the reason why I purchased the same. One main issue which I faced with this specific product was that it always fell off my ears. Which made me cautious in traveling with it. I always used this product for working from home. It has been close to a year since I purchased the same as some websites are still selling the product even though nothing pulled the plug on this product. By the one year mark the case on the right ear bud came off and because of the design I cannot use any type of glue to put it back in. Another issue I am facing right now is that the right earbuds isn’t disconnecting from my phone even after closing the case.
2) CMF Buds Pro 2:
Another product which I purchased because they have released this with all the hype with the smart dial. I thought the smart dial was something which would be useful as i loved the idea of controlling the music with the case. I had set the dial for volume control, after a few months I realised that the volume being increased without any user input. After a lot of digging, I found the culprit to be the smart dial and disabled it. Again, this is happening after the products warranty expired. Another issue I faced is the durability of the product. The left earbud fell off from my ear and its case cracked? I mean it wasn’t that hard of a fall it was from my ear to the floor. I expected the product to last a few drops, but it broke on a small fall like this is also a disappointment. After that a crack appeared on the body and the earbuds doesn’t charge to 100%. It always stops around 80 to 90%.
3) CMF Neckband Pro:
This was the biggest disappointment out of the three, after one year mark its wires are coming off from the housing and today it stopped charging even after plugging in. The volume dial in this one was adjusting volume without user input and I had to disable it. The smart dial is a disappointment.
All the above products gave up on me on the one-year mark after warranty expired and it is a disappointment for a long term user who has been using Nothing products. The product is good, the design is amazing, but when I buy something I expect it to be durable and long lasting. Since the product durability is in question, I am skeptical in purchasing any of the high-end nothing audio products,
On the side note, I have the CMF charger as well and the nothing phone 1, though the phone 1 held up decently well over the years, I really hope the charger will not give up on me after a year mark. I just love the product but durability is something which is a disappointment so far for me.
