‘Retrospect’ is my concept for this years hardware design concept for the Nothing phone 3a.
A throwback at retro electronics inspired this design, drawing from classic CMF elements - beige tones with neon orange accent in reflective material. To add depth, I introduced a fine metallic wire texture on the panels that interacts with sunlight, reminiscent of record player grooves and placed next to the black circular panel. A yellow stripe highlights the ‘essential space’ button for visibility and function. As a bonus idea beyond the brief, the circular panel could be designed to rotate freely, adding movement when using the phone.
