Apps Disappearing Randomly - Help

It’s the second time this has happened, and now I’ve lost many apps, including Google Play Store, phone settings, and more. I have no idea how to reinstall them since they’re not there anymore. Previously, I only lost WhatsApp, but now it’s much worse, and I don’t understand how this is happening. Restarting the phone doesn’t bring them back.

My phone and apps were fully up to date, as I regularly check for updates.

Has anyone else experienced this issue where apps just disappear completely? What can I do now, especially since I can’t even access my settings?

Hi, the shortcuts have disappeared from the screen. The only way I can access some apps is by holding the background, going to widgets, and finding a few of them there. However, trying to bring them back to the home screen doesn’t work.

But, For example, with WhatsApp, I can change the icon, and if I select a new one, it stays. But if I try to restore the original WhatsApp icon, it fails. The settings app doesn’t return either. Instead, it only adds a shortcut to the specific settings section I open, not the full app itself.

Google Play Store is completely missing, even under widgets. Any ideas on how to fix this?

StefanMertes_9MPeTfjOVh Seems like a launcher issue. Try updating the Nothing Launcher from the Play Store. If there’s no updates available, then try restarting your phone. Also try clearing the cache of Nothing Launcher from Settings. If the problem still persists, then install a different launcher like Lawnchair and use that for the time being and write a feedback to the Nothing team, either via the Settings or on the Nothing Launcher app on Play Store. And the reason why you’re not seeing the Play Store widget is because, even though Play Store has a “My apps” widget, the only way to add it to the home screen is by long pressing the Play Store icon. It isn’t in the widgets section. And on that note, you could try adding widgets on the home screen by pressing on the app’s icons as well.

Rivan, thanks! I uninstalled the launcher app and started again. Everything on the display is reset, but the apps are still there. At least now I know the issue comes from the launcher app. I’ll notify Nothing.
