No notifications arrive after the phone is on standby

I’ve been using a CMF Phone 1 and a CMF Watch pro 2 for a few days now. It’s the first time I’ve used Nothing products, and I’m generally really enjoying it. But there’s something I can’t understand. As long as I interact with the phone regularly, everything works fine. But if I leave the phone on standby for a while, I no longer receive any notifications from any app. Not on the phone or on the watch. Then when I pick up the phone and unlock it, all of a sudden all the notifications start coming in as if the messages arrived at that precise moment, when in fact they were sent minutes or even hours before. I tried changing the battery usage settings both in the system settings and in the individual apps, but nothing seems to change this behavior. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a solution?

Hey, it is likely a side effect of Battery Optimisation, that you are experiencing.

If you follow: Settings > Battery and then uncheck “Sleep standby optimisation”, this should fix the issues you see with notifications not being pushed to your device when it is locked and not being used.

Any further issues, it may be worth sending Feedback directly to the team, either via Settings > System > Feedback or Settings > Tips & Feedback > Feedback.

Thanks for reply! I’ve already turned off the setting you mention, and either turned off adaptive battery optimization that also mentioned in notes that “could delay notification receiving”, but none of this fixed this issue. Today i restarted the phone, so maybe this will trigger those settings modification to be applied correctly. Apart from that, it seems like when the device is locked for a while it’s somehow losing connection (it have signal and is connected to wi-fi, in theory), as for example, this morning my girlfriend tried to text me via whatsapp and she said that the messages where not signed as “delivered” (you know, the double “v” status) as like as i don’t receive them as long as my phone is locked.
I’m just start thinking that this could be related more to a network issue than a battery management one, what do you think?

NicoLazariachvili - That network behaviour you described is indeed unusual.

It might be worth checking the Network settings too? Follow Settings > Network & internet > Data Saver and see if this option is enabled or not.
